In those moments, that's when we need to make a decision, to be right or dead right. If we exercised the rights we have, we could be injured or even killed. The decision not to exercise our rights in this instance meant we would all be around to live another day.
This holds true in God. There are a lot of individuals who believe that they're right, myself included. In fact in the scripture says that a man is right in his own eyes. Proverbs 18:17, He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
As in the situation I mentioned above, we tend to believe we are right in our beliefs or ways of doing things. But the God who loves us is doing His best to explain to us that it is not what we think or believe or feel, but His right way that counts. Righteousness! Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
So, no matter what the world teaches us. No matter what a religion teaches us. The only way we really know something to be true is if it is opened up and revealed to us by the Holy Ghost. So we have a choice to make, to be right or be Righteous.
