Well now this is something you don’t hear every day. When was the last time you heard a leader in the church tell you that you need to be a cyclops? This one-eyed creature is used by the world to portray an evil being. When you see one you should run.
But that is the natural man’s view with his natural understanding.
So, let’s look at this spiritually. Jesus said in Matthew 6:22, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
And his words are repeated in Luke 11:34-36, The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
So, to see God as he really is, we need to be like a cyclops, with one eye, a spiritual eye. If we do, we see him in full light and not in darkness. We see him as he really is.
What if we do not see him with one eye and instead see him with our natural two eyes? Then we can’t truly see him, because the light we are using to see him is darkness.
Desire to see like the cyclops, with one eye, a single eye, a spiritual eye.
He that has ears to hear, let him hear with singleness of eye.
