A report from Brother M. A. Howe, Missionary to the Indians in Canada. GOSPEL TENT MEETING of 1961. This Reserve had no Christians on it, but the very first night the Gospel was preached, one man gave his heart to the Lord and insisted on being baptized immediately. We baptized him that afternoon, and the Lord filled him with the Holy Spirit.
One elderly Indian lady had a crippled left arm. She said that she could not even lift a teacup. I felt led to rebuke and bind the spirit of infirmity, and the Lord instantly healed her crippled arm. She demonstrated before a tent full of Indians that her arm was completely healed by lifting a heavy Oak chair with this arm and holding it at arm’s length. She did this for several nights to show what God had done for her.
A man who had not opened his hand nor raised his arm for 25 years was healed by the stripes of the Lord after we rebuked the spirit of infirmity.
Four more were baptized in water on this Reservation of over 1,000 people, making a total of six in just a few days.
Several children were healed, as an epidemic of virus flu broke out which took the lives of children on several Reserves.
One little girl was healed of a sore which she had on her neck for two years. The sore had been open and running for two years, and when we left there, the sore was completely healed.
