Have you, like myself, lost a friend, or you felt crushed at heart, and ask, "God why did this happen?" What now is our position, do we complain, justify ourselves, do we harden our hearts?
We have been studying the book of 1st Samuel and in chapter 15 God has anointed Saul the first King of Israel (God's nation). King Saul disobeys God's command, but notice Saul does part of what God says, but not all. Verse three God commands King Saul to destroy all, but as you read on he keeps the best of the animals and Agag the king of Amalek alive.
My challenge was do I choose to be like Saul, or David a man after God's heart. Notice that both men were chosen of God, the same is for us and so we must examine ourselves and choose.
Remind me Lord I pray. 1st Samuel 12: 21-25, “And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain. For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.”
