Revelation 1:3 says, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
Again, in Revelation 22:7, Jesus says, “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
The message is clear. You are blessed if you are able to read and hear, and also keep the words written in this book of Revelation. Revelation 1:1 says that this is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass…”

How does one keep something if they don’t understand it?
Seven times in the first three chapters of Revelation it says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” So how do we hear the Spirit?
Jesus said in John 16:13-14, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come…”
In Acts 2:1-39 it says, “…And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance... they were pricked in their heart, and said… what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost…”
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
If you can’t hear the Spirt of God how can you begin to hear and keep the words of this book?
