In this day of everyone believing their own thing and no judgement concerning the doctrine of God, it is important to return to the revealing of the Spirit of Christ, that was once taught to the early Church, Jude 1: 3.
I am thankful that the Holy Ghost is faithful to bring us back to soundness and truth. That if there is any error, whether found in us or another, he gives us the opportunity to repent and come out of it, that our path may be secure in the way of the Lord.
Doctrine and sound doctrine are two different things. One is whatever a man believes is truth and the other is tested, tried, and proven by a set of standards or weights and found to be sound.
Multiple groups claim their interpretation of the scriptures is the true interpretation. But because they do not use a true weight or tape measure to verify their truth of the scriptures, you then have multiple groups and organizations who claim to have the truth.
How can one know which one truly holds the truth without some way to measure that truth?
We can never walk in the unity of the faith if we never sit down and agree on a standard to judge each scripture by.
Secondhand information is distorted and cannot be considered the true word of God.
So, it is with the scriptures. If you want to know the true spirit and scope of what is being said in the scriptures, you need to get it from the source.
